Climate Adaptation Market and
Workforce Assessment for MSMEs
and Vocational Institutions in Indonesia
The baseline study works directly with small businesses, local workers, and vocational schools in Banyuwangi (East Java) and Karangasem (Bali) to understand how climate change—such as heat, floods, and unpredictable weather—affects their daily lives and work. Instead of relying only on surveys and numbers, our team uses a people-centered, participatory approach that includes community gatherings, walks through local neighborhoods, and hands-on workshops.
The goal is to listen to real experiences, identify which small businesses are most vulnerable, and map out what skills and training are needed for climate solutions like solar panel installations and building retrofits. By the end of this baseline study, we will deliver clear, practical recommendations to guide pilot projects, strengthen workforce training, and help build a more resilient and fair green economy in both districts.
