This project addresses the unique challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in Indonesia's climate and clean energy sectors, focusing on issues like limited access to finance and support networks, and investment opportunities, further exacerbated by geographical disparities.
In East Kutai, coal mining's decline endangers dependent communities. This work focuses on fostering sustainable alternatives and empowering residents, particularly women who often face disproportionate impacts from economic transitions, to navigate the shift away from fossil fuel dependence.
Indonesia's natural resources suffer from extraction-driven degradation. Just Transition Indonesia advocates for social and gender inclusion in Environmental Fiscal Transfers (EFTs) to support sustainable land use. In 2024, research will assess EFTs and suggest improvements.
